Olivia McLaughlin is a writer and director from Ireland.

With five years of producing experience across commercial and broadcast for clients including Amazon Music, Tourism Ireland, Guinness, and Mercury Prize nominee CMAT, Olivia brings a comprehensive understanding of the creative process to her work. Now transitioning to focus on writing and directing, her background managing teams and budgets while maintaining creative integrity gives her a unique perspective on bringing stories from script to screen.

A Virgin Media Discovers Top 10 Finalist in 2022, she secured Development Funding for a co-written screenplay. She recently won the GALPAL Collective 'Directed by Her' Music Video Audience Award and joined the esteemed Shiny Creators list for BIIRD's The Rollover Music Video. Her directing projects span music videos to commercials, with her debut short film Parting premiering at this year’s Oscar-qualifying Galway Film Fleadh, where she is also a Bingham Ray New Talent Nominee. Now selected for the prestigious Stowe Story Labs program, she is developing new work alongside her established directing practice.

Olivia’s work centres on capturing authentic female experiences through warm, intimate storytelling that celebrates vulnerability. She specialises in finding emotional power within everyday moments, creating relatable visual narratives with natural warmth that connects deeply with audiences across film, music videos, and commercial work.
